In a perfect world the only monsters children would have to worry about would be the imaginary kind – those that hide in their closets and under their beds.  But unfortunately, monsters such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease are real and affect tens of thousands of children in the U.S. each year.  Kids fighting these monsters deserve the best health care can offer –the best treatments, the best doctors and the best researchers searching for new medicines and cures.

Inspired by Guy’s work in the medical field, Jason’s background in children’s social work, and a shared connection to the community of Gainesville, FL, proceeds from the Download One, Give One project will benefit the UF&Shands – Department of Pediatrics. With some of the country’s leading specialists and researchers, the UF Department of Pediatrics is focused on bringing the latest research and most innovative treatments to their smallest patients and the families that come from across the country for care.

We know that choice is important to those who give, so downloaders will also have the ability to choose one of the following areas for their donation to support:

+ Research - Support research into childhood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, and brain tumors.

+ Palliative Care - Support programs enhancing the quality of life for the child and their family with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions.

+ Family Assistance - Support programs that help families in their greatest time of need whether it's gasoline for the car, temporary housing, or other miscellaneous expenses incurred by the family during the frequent or prolonged treatments.

+ Social Work - Support programs focused on patient services and support needs within the hospital and community.

It’s not a perfect world, but with your help, we can make it better for children with chronic/life-limiting disease.
